We most highly recommend Arelis A. Pérez, who helped us to buy our first home in 2009. As first-time homebuyers with exacting requirements, Arelis patiently educated us on the Washington housing market for over a year, showing us dozens of houses and tutoring us in assessing the condition and value of a property and in spotting problems and seeing a home´s potential. She advised us on how to put forward our best offer and be as competitive as possible within our means, educating us on the intricacies of responsible home finance. She was patient, taking the time to understand our goals and our budget and helping us identify houses that met them; throughout this process Arelis wrote up five offers for us before we finally got our home. She was honest with us that the selection would be limited for the size of house and the location we wanted and for the budget we had available, and she never pushed us to go beyond what we felt was comfortable-which less ethical agents might have done. Arelis made sure we understood what we were doing, never pressured us, and always respected our decisions. When we needed to move quickly, Arelis always made it happen. In one example, a listing was posted on a Wednesday, but as we were leaving the country on Sunday morning she showed us the house that Friday night. It was clear that the house would not wait until our return, so Arelis put everything aside to get our offer ready for us to sign the following afternoon. She stayed on top of the bidding process while we were gone and gave us regular updates. Ultimately the bids for the house went too high for us and we had to drop out, but Arelis, sensing our disappointment, encouraged us to enjoy our vacation, put this property behind us, and look ahead to the next house. Not missing a beat, she showed us a listing she thought we would like the very day we arrived back in town-and it is the house we ultimately bought. As we made offers, Arelis fiercely protected us from unscrupulous and incompetent agents. For example, her sharp eye, keen instincts, and unfailing attention to detail caught several mistakes made by the agent listing the house we purchased, and through her actions Arelis saved us money, time, and aggravation in closing a deal that could easily have derailed at multiple points in the closing process. In the end, we got our house-and we got it for the price that was right for us. Arelis didn´t stop helping us when we got the keys to our new home. She recommended a moving company that was professional, efficient, and eminently careful. She counseled us in filing our tax paperwork. And when we shared with her our vision for renovating our new home she helped us to find highly skilled and honest contractors who have made our vision a reality. She even took on the duties-completely unpaid-of advising us on managing our renovation projects, even to the point of inspecting our contractors´ work. Well, where do I begin, you know we go way back to 2003 and with the purchase of my house in May of 2004. You were awesome then and you are awesome now!! I admit that I was often unsure or pessimistic at times during the process, but you immediately quelled those fears by offering accurate and objective insight. These instances served as a testament to your experience, seriousness about your profession, and illustrated unwavering commitment to your client. Your ability to foresee a lot of the issues we encountered was almost supernatural - as was your ability to practically read my mind at times.

Arelis A. Pérez is the most competent real estate master that I have ever known in my 81 years. She sold our house at our price in today´s buyers market. There were many hurdles to cross when she was dealing with the buyers´ representatives who were uncomfortable dealing with an individual who had more knowledge than they will ever possess. As progress lagged and we became discouraged she always kept a business like positive attitude, the consummate professional who even provided assistance to the buyers´ agent in developing proper protocol to follow Maryland ´s real estate requirements. I´m not going to tell everyone that because we had Arelis as our agent it wasn´t difficult, no, but I will let the world know how much of a leader she is and because of her my family is now enjoying the home of our dreams and it all happened so fast. We placed an offer on the 6th of August, the bank kept us at bay but they approved the short sale on August 29th. We closed on the 19th of September, only 20 days later (that´s including a Federal Holiday in between)! This is unheard of! One more tidbit so you can fully understand the prowess this lady possesses. It was a Veteran´s Affair (VA) loan; VA loans have a few extra stipulations that make the process a bit more time-consuming. But we asked if we could close on the 19th and she made that her "mission in life", just like she makes every other home buying/renting instantiation "her mission". Let me not forget to also thank the team behind the genius that is Arelis, primarily Paul Marston. The folks at Fitzgerald, Lawyers Advantage, and Monarch as well. All these components were integral to the success of my wife and me obtaining such a stunning property at such a low price. These are very tough times and the home loan process is so closely vetted that you really need a focused and seasoned team on your side to successfully do what my wife and I did. Not only did we buy our "dream" home we were lucky enough to keep the T.H. as well, which is a fantastic "security blanket" in this precarious era we live in. Arelis, I just wanted to say thanks again for everything. Even with my difficult situation in which I had to get two loans, one with Pinnacle Financial Corporation and the other with HPAP. After being approved for a $300,000 Loan from my first trust Lender and finding a home for that amount in December, 2006. I had to go though HPAP (second trust lender) who did in fact reject the offer (contract). They said I couldn´t afford a house for $300,000 so HPAP gave me a new amount that was $230,000 (max loan amount) which was $70,000 less than anticipated which made finding a house in D.C. challenging. After 3 months I found a house for $230,000 and submitted a new contract with HPAP in March, 2007 and HPAP rejected my second contract stating that the $230,000 was still out of my price range and questioned my affordability. At this point I was to give up on buying a house. I told myself that I was going to rent a house. However, Arelis didn´t give up on me. Being a single mother earning $31,000 a year and a mother of three children in which I had to take two of my three children ( ages 10 months old and 5 years old at the time) with me to our appointments. Viewing a total of about 30 houses up and down D.C. However Arelis fought for me when I physically gave up. Arelis visited HPAP time and time again, calling on a daily basis and never letting the ball drop which eventually turned into my approved contract for the house I now OWN. At the time when a home inspection was performed HPAP cited the house with a 52 page-report on March 15, 2007. When Arelis got finished with HPAP that 52-page report became four repairs. When I say Arelis is a fighter that´s an under statement. I want to end this by saying I closed on my first house on May 31, 2007 with Arelis on my side and I moved in on June 15, 2007.
